Who has the New York Times in their pocket and why are they pushing 5G so hard without reporting on the harmful effects?

This week the RT news channel unpacked huge conflict of interests at the New York Times (NYT) which has particularly close links with multinational telecommunications conglomerate Verizon. (Verizon Wireless is the largest U.S. wireless communications service provider.)

Below are some of the findings and in particular look out at at 3:22s for the speech by a representative of the New York Times who said, “This January, with the support of Verizon, we’re launching a new Journalism 5G Lab at The Times. Now this lab’s going to be based in our main news room and it’ll work very closely with Times journalists in New York City, across America and around the world. It’ll partner with Verizon’s Innovation Group and get early access to 5G technology and equipment.”

Clearly a huge conflict of interest there and there’s more when you compare the biggest owners of Verizon to the biggest owners of the NY Times (Vanguard Group, BlackRock, Fidelity, Wellington Management…)

Doreen Tobin, currently on the NYT Board of Directors, was previously vice president of Verizon, having worked in the telecom industry for 25 years.

And Ajit Pai, also on the NYT Board of Directors is a former Verizon lawyer and currently head of the FCC which is meant to be regulating 5G technology!

Billionaire Carlos Slim, one of the largest shareholders of the NYT, made much of his fortune from the telecommunications industry and is strongly pushing for 5G in America and Mexico.

And one look at the New York Times articles shows how vigorously they’re pushing Verizon and the 5G agenda…

Yet another clear example of how the fox has taken over the hen house!
